Title: On Call Critical Area Review
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 12/30/2024
Due Date: 1/24/2025
Lewis County is hiring on-call professional services to review Critical Area Reports submitted to the county with development permit applications. The consultant would review stream assessments and wetland reports, delineations and mitigation plans to determine if applicable local, state and federal mapping and rating criteria are met. Field work is anticipated.
Lewis County has many streams and wetlands that need to be protected for the functions they provide including the storage and movement of surface and subsurface water. When development is proposed, staff determine if streams or wetlands, or the associated buffers, are on or near the site. If those resources are present, then a stream assessment or wetland delineation may be required. Lewis County Department of Community Development does not have in-house expertise to determine if the submitted assessments or delineations meet all applicable mapping and rating criteria. A successful consultant would employee staff with the appropriate education and certifications to review the assessments and delineations, determine if applicable criteria are met and provide county staff with a list of necessary corrections to the mapping or rating.
