The Downtown Economic Growth Authority invites proposals from qualified firms to develop a Pedestrian Wayfinding & Signage Master Plan for Downtown Kalamazoo. The goal is a cohesive, user-friendly, and maintainable system that Strengthens downtown’s identity and sense of welcome; Improves walkability and the visitor journey for parking, transit stops, and trailheads to destinations; Meets or exceeds ADA/universal design standards; Is implementable through a phased, cost-realistic roadmap aligned to the DEGA’s projected budgets 2027-2030.
The selected firm will deliver a comprehensive plan (concepts → standards → GIS location plan → implementation roadmap), with an optional pilot/mock-up as an add-alternate.
