City of Aurora Temporary Warming Center Food Vendor

The City of Aurora is soliciting proposals from qualified food service providers to provide pre-packaged, pre-cooked, ready-to-serve meals for guests of the City of Aurora’s Temporary Warming Center, located at 712 S. River St. Aurora, Illinois, 60505.

The selected contractor will be responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, transporting, and delivering nutritious meals in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local food safety requirements.

The goal of this RFP is to establish a reliable food service arrangement that provides warming center residents with safe, nutritious, appealing, and appropriately portioned meals while maintaining cost-effectiveness and operational flexibility.

The City of Aurora’s Temporary Warming Center, which provides temporary shelter and opportunity to access supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

The warming center is projected to operate approximately 90 days between November 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027 and may provide approximately 2,700 total meals to approximately an average of 30 residents per day the center is open. The number of residents may fluctuate substantially based upon warming center utilization, weather conditions, seasonal demand, and emergency circumstances.

The City of Aurora is seeking a qualified vendor capable of accommodating these fluctuations while maintaining consistent food quality and service.
