The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota supports approximately 12,000 undergraduate students across more than 30 academic departments. LATIS, Liberal Arts Technologies and Innovation Services, provides support for programs engaged in media instruction by managing TV studios, editing suites, and equipment loaner pools. LATIS currently uses the WebCheckout platform to manage reservations for equipment, edit suites, and studio time. Separate pools are also managed for some department-specific equipment. Students enrolled in approved classes can use the system to make reservations. Student employees manage checkout desks and go through a checkout / return process. We currently manage between 4000 and 5000 pieces of equipment total.
