The Minnesota Department of IT Services (MNIT), partnering with the Department of Agriculture (MDH), intends to renew an agreement with Precise Software Solutions (Precise) for up to 12 months to provide software maintenance, support, and hosting of MDA's USAFoodSafety application.
USAFoodSafety is an enterprise system that consolidates food, health, and public safety information from state and local governments into a state-wide repository. It integrates the workflow for licensing, mobile inspections, certification, recall and trace-back, complaints, enforcements, laboratory sampling, billing, and accounting processes. The USAFoodSafety application is a component of AgraGuard software, and the National Agribusiness Technology Center (NATC) recognizes Precise to have "Certified and Approved" status for implementation, maintenance, and hosting services for the USAFoodSafety product. MDA has determined that USAFoodSafety is the only commercially reasonably available commodity product. This is deemed a single source purchase because USAFoodSafety is solely distributed and supported by Precise and is not available from other third parties.
