CONTRACT POSTING

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is currently seeking Protestant Religious Service Providers for the Belmont Correctional Institution. 

 

DESCRIPTION

The services that we are in search of are Christian, religious services.  The contract term for said services will begin March 1, 2026 and continue through June 30, 2027 with potential for annual renewals.  Candidates must be appropriately credentialed by their representative faith group and demonstrate previous experience in providing religious services

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES

‐Contractor will be expected to work up to 32 hours per week at a rate ranging from $25.00 per hour

Contractor will provide the following services:

‐Conduct weekly religious programming

‐Provide religious study or education classes.

‐Provide general pastoral care to all inmates, which may include: consultation concerning religious issues, grief care, crisis pastoral counseling, pastor visitation with inmates in special units. This may include segregation, hospital/infirmary, living units and visiting room.

-Facilitate bed side and funeral web viewings.

-Supervise volunteer programming as needed.

‐Attend annual Religious Service meeting which is Mandatory. yearly compensation for attendance will be granted as required per contract.

‐Make referrals for inmates to appropriate services.

‐Distribution of religious literature and/or conducting of religious programs.

‐Assistance of Chaplains in appropriate duties and/or conducting of religious programs at institution.

‐Complete a monthly report form on services provided to be submitted to the DWSS and the DRC Religious Services Administrator‐Operations Support Center no later than the 5th of the following month.

Qualifications

-Current ecclesiastical endorsement by organization &/ or ordination.

Unusual Working Conditions.

-May be exposed to confined resident, consumer or inmate areas; may be exposed to potentially violent residents, consumers or inmates; may be exposed to unusual noises, odors, or contagious diseases; may be required to work weekends/Sundays; bay be call f or emergency situations.
