On-Call Hazardous Waste Collection, Transport and Disposal

The City of Alameda invites proposals for the On-Call Hazardous Waste Collection, Transport and Disposal.  The contract term will be 5 years.

Proposers shall read the information contained in this Request for Proposal (RFP) to understand how to submit the proposal, what documents must accompany the proposal and what legal obligations apply when the Proposer submits a proposal.  Any Proposer that wishes to be considered for this work must submit the information requested in this RFP and if invited, participate in an evaluation interview panel.

The City of Alameda's Department of Public Works Maintenance Service Center is seeking a qualified contractor to provide on-call collection, transport, and disposal of hazardous waste materials collected by City staff from various rights-of-way.  Materials are stored at the Public Works Maintenance Service Center Yard until they reach the legal maximum capacity, at which time the selected contractor will be asked to perform a service call.  The City requires the selected contractor to perform their services while adhering to all related local, state and federal laws and industry standards, as well as staying abreast of all changes to such.  See Appendix A for a detailed scope of work.

The Proposal shall be submitted in electronic format (PDF) to the City of Alameda’s Public Works Supervisor Mike Magaro’s email address at mmagaro@alamedaca.gov by 2:00 PM  on  Thursday, May 28, 2026.  It is the Proposer’s responsibility to clearly identify the RFP name in the email subject line “RFP for On-Call Hazardous Waste Collection, Transport and Disposal” .  The time and date on the email, as received in the City’s Public Work’s Supervisor’s inbox, will serve as the official received date and time stamp.  Please allow sufficient time to submit and acknowledge the submittal of your proposal.  RFP’s with a time stamp after 2:00 PM will not be accepted.  Any proposal received prior to 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 may be modified by written addendum or withdrawn by written request from the Proposer to the City up to the official time when all proposals are due.  Section IV contains a complete list of proposal requirements.

Please direct any Project questions to Mike Magaro, Public Works Supervisor at mmagaro@alamedaca.gov .  Questions must be submitted by written email and received by 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
