Sewage Lagoon Sludge Dredging, Hydrovaced Grit Excavation & Disposal Services
Synopsis:
The City of Meadow Lake (the "City") invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the mechanical dredging, dewatering, and disposal of accumulated sludge and grit from Lagoon Cells 1, A1, and A2. The primary disposal route is the Northwest Regional Landfill (Class II) located approximately 25 km west of the City (Range Road #3193 North). An alternative pricing structure is included for Hazardous Waste disposal should the material fail acceptance criteria. The project includes:
• Pre-disposal testing, including TCLP and Paint Filter Tests/SK Class II Landfill Package, to meet the acceptance criteria of the Northwest Regional Landfill and all applicable regulations of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment.
• Mechanical/hydraulic dredging of sludge
• Excavation of grit deposits
• Dewatering to landfill acceptance standards as detailed in Part B, Section 2.0 (Landfill Acceptance Criteria) and Appendix B.
• Transportation and disposal at Northwest Regional Landfill. The Contractor assumes sole responsibility for ensuring all material meets the landfill's acceptance criteria. In the event that tested material is rejected by the Northwest Regional Landfill, the Contractor is solely responsible for all costs associated with securing alternative disposal at an approved facility, including any required additional testing, handling, transportation, and tipping fees. The Contractor must identify and provide details for a viable secondary disposal site in their proposal submission.
• Site restoration and coordination with the City's aeration contractor (Nexom)
