The work consists in the construct monument signs to commemorate four (4) historic African American communities within the City. Monument signs are to be constructed in the Lake Smith, Seatack, Great Neck, and Doyletown communities. Except for Doyletown, signs will generally consist of a precast concrete sign face atop a brick veneer foundation wall, brick columns on both ends of the sign face, and precast concrete caps atop each column. Each sign face will display the communityâs name with projected-mount cast bronze lettering. The Doyletown sign will include a brick wall addition to an existing sign with the words âAn African American Historic Communityâ affixed to it. The Seatack location will also include the relocation of an existing sign.
