The Village of Palatine Department of Public Works is accepting sealed proposals for the 2026 Fiber Optic Link Project Contract DPW-2642.

Project DPW-2642 for which proposals are being sought includes providing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and construction methods for the installation of approximately 4,370 feet of 1.5” coilable nonmetallic conduit directionally drilled, 3,630 feet of 12F single mode fiber optic cable, 1,700 feet of 2F single mode fiber optic drop cable, installation of outdoor rated Category 6e network cable in conduit and all associated connections/splicing and testing as part of the project in the Village of Palatine.

This work is funded with both Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity funds and is subject to financial assistance agreements with said agencies. Responsibilities under the CDBG Program include: adhering to the Davis-Bacon Act, verifying wage decisions to be valid at the time of bid opening, certified payrolls to be submitted, and on-site interviews of labor force to verify wages. The letting of this contract is subject to Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).
