OVERVIEW

The Road Department of Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors is currently accepting bids to provide two

(2) new, unused 2025 or newer small excavators. It must be serviced and ready for operation upon delivery.

All bidders must clearly identify all deviations from these specifications that their products may have as a part

of this bid; however, bids must meet or exceed specifications. All equipment and/or material bid as an

approved equal and/or different from the specifications must be approved and accepted by the County Road

Manager & Road Coordinator.

We shall select the best bid(s), which may not necessarily be the lowest bid, and reserve the right to waive any

informalities. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions

thereof.

BID EXPECTATIONS

• Bidders must submit with their bid the latest printed specifications and advertising literature on the

unit they propose to furnish.

• Bidders shall supply one (1) parts book and one (1) service and repair manual, with each unit.

• Bidder shall be prepared to give a complete demonstration of the merits of the machines offered as

directed by the purchaser. The machine so demonstrated shall be complete as offered by the bidder

for this bid.

• The price shall include all transportation charges to Meridian, Mississippi.

• Purchaser requests delivery to be as soon as practical.

• Bidder shall include a current, signed W-9 form. (IRS Rev. March 2024)

• A Purchase Order will be issued to the successful vendor in the amount of the total bid price.

• Funding for this purchase will be provided by Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors. Payment will

be made within 20 days of the receipt of invoice, provided the equipment has been delivered.

• The County reserves the right to reject any/or all bids.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Basis of Award shall be dependent on the most responsible bid submitted. Consideration will be

given to cash flow, purchase price, delivery dates, equipment service guarantees, parts and service

availability, parts and service location, analysis and comparison of equipment specification details, and

any other items of concern to Lauderdale County.

SPECIFICATIONS STATEMENT

The specifications on the following page are intended as minimum requirements. However, it is

recognized that each manufacturer has special features that make their equipment unique. Therefore, all

bids will be considered, but every bidder must state, in detail, where his product fails to meet these

specifications. Unless otherwise stated, these specifications are not intentionally written to favor any one

Manufacturer and are only for the purpose of indicating generally the type of work required of said bid

items. It is the intention of the County to purchase quality products and not necessarily the products with

the lowest initial cost.
