Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk in the City Building, 400 East Military Avenue, Fremont, Nebraska, until 11:00 a.m., April 29, 2026, and be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers at that time for all tools, labor and materials necessary to complete the work required for 1ST STREET RECONSTRUCTION, as per the Plans and Specifications prepared by the Engineering Department and on file with the City Clerk.

2600 SY of Remove and Replace Concrete Pavement AND, other associated work. Project consists of removal and replacement of concrete pavement, curb ramps, replacing manhole rings and covers, adjusting manholes and valves, sodding and erosion control.
Contractors that are qualified to bid must obtain the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents from the City Engineer’s office, 3rd. Floor, 400 East Military Avenue, Fremont, Nebraska. All work must conform to both the City of Fremont's Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and the project-specific Special Provisions. In the event of conflicts, the Special Provisions take precedence over the Standard Specifications and other technical specifications.
The CONTRACTOR shall commence work soon as practical after execution of contract starting on or after May 25, 2026, and complete the work on or prior to August 17, 2026. The CONTRACTOR also agrees to complete the work within 35 working days of commencing construction and regardless of start date. Working days shall be counted per the 2017 NDOT Standard Specifications. The CONTRACTOR’S failure to substantially complete the work within contract time or to achieve substantial completion as set forth herein shall result in Contractor paying liquidated damages as set forth in this section. Liquidated damages of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per working day will be assessed after the time completion has expired based upon the allowed working days. The parties acknowledge and hereby agree with substantial and final completions that such payments constitute liquidated damage and shall not be deemed to be a penalty.
