ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Exchange Street Sidewalk Project will be received by
the Town of Middlebury at the Department of Public Works, 1020 Route 7 South,
Middlebury, VT 05753, until 10:00 AM local time on May 26, 2026, at which time the Bids
received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing a new sidewalk
and shared use path with related signage and utility work along Exchange Street in
Middlebury, VT.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price
basis, as indicated in the Bid Form.
Bids shall be submitted as follows:
1. Electronically with read receipts by 10:00 AM local time on May 26, 2026, to the
following address:

Or
2. Bids submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Town of Middlebury Attn.
Emmalee Cherington, marked with the name of the bid and time of the bid opening.
All hard copies of bids shall be submitted to the Middlebury Department of Public
Works at 1020 Route 7 South, Middlebury, VT 05753 by 10:00 AM local time on May
26, 2026.
Bidders are highly encouraged to submit their bids earlier than the listed deadline to prevent
issues with the submission process. Bids received past the 10:00 AM local time on May 26,
2026, deadline will be considered late and thus will not be included in the bid tabulation.
Bidders are required to reach out to confirm receipt once a bid has been submitted. A bid
tabulation will be released to all bidders within (5) business days.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 PM local time on May 12, 2026, at the Middlebury
Department of Public Works. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but
is not mandatory.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from Blueprints, Etc., located at 20
Farrell Street South Burlington, VT 05403 during Blueprint’s office hours, upon payment of a
publishing cost. Alternatively, Bidding Documents are available as portable document format
(PDF) files from Bowman (Issuing Office) by contacting Nikki Centerbar at
nikki.centerbar@bowman.com. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the
Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial
sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible
for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources
other than the Issuing Office.
