The Department’s Office of Global Acquisition is considering to award IDIQs, BPAs, or similar ordering mechanisms to fulfill recurrent needs and streamline the acquisition process. Orders may be placed to fulfill INL and other Department programs.

The following is a preliminary list of required ammunition. Additional details and draft specifications are included in Attachment A.

  • 5.56mm NATO Ammunition

  • 7.62mm NATO Ammunition

  • .50 BMG NATO Ammunition

  • 9mm Handgun Ammunition

  • 5.56x45 Frangible Training Ammunition

  • 9mm Frangible Training Ammunition

  • 7.62mm Short Range Training Ammunition

The Department is looking for companies with mature manufacturing capabilities and industry leading quality standards. Companies must possess all required licenses and approvals to manufacture, package, store, and ship (to include applying for any export license that may be required) ammunition. The companies must demonstrate a capability to produce, if required, at least 500,000 rounds per month.
