Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source

Whiteman AFB intends to award as a sole source, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), a contract for the purchase of six SAFRAN Defense & Space Inc. DS-U3-S, USB-3.1 Gen 1 compliant docking stations (part number: SHS100-2361) "or equal".

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334118 and the small business size is 1,000 employees. The assigned Service Code is 7J20.

This requirement is for six SAFRAN Defense & Space Inc. DS-U3-S, USB-3.1 Gen 1 compliant docking stations (part number: SHS100-2361) "or equal" to access and transfer data from HEIM DATaRec® 4 MDR series RSM/DSM/RRM and RSMxxx-S cartridges equipped with Data at Rest Protected (DARP) encryption. Through market research, attempted competition to GSA vendors, and confirmation from Safran Defense And Space, Inc. there is no other contractor approved to provide the docking stations.

Award will be made on or after 26 September 2025.

Intended awardee is Safran Defense And Space, Inc.
