Rosetown Connected Care – Design Consultant

1. BACKGROUND

Saskatchewan’s Connected Care Strategy is about improving team-based care in hospital and community settings and improving the way we communicate with patients and providers when patients move between these settings. With the shift from hospitals to health centres in rural Saskatchewan, this provides an opportunity to collocate an area’s physicians together in underused space within the health centres.

Per our site stakeholders, it was decided that the lower-level east wing of Rosetown Hospital and District Health Centre would be an appropriate location for the project. An earlier iteration of this project underwent a lot of design work at which point it was found the estimated cost significantly exceeded our scope. In the re-start of this project, it is expected much of the current floor plan will remain intact, with a few key renovations to accentuate patient flow and experience. It is also expected the current main entrance into this area of the building will remain as the main entrance for this project.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Prime Architectural services to design a renovated space based on the specifications and requirements below. A priority of the current design work will be to ensure the existing space meets the new utilization requirements, especially in client service areas. In particular, design work needs to ensure the proposed reception work area and the client work area fir with client volumes and flow.
