MCEC South End Doors T07a

Work to replace doors will be performed at the southeast and southwest corners of Level 0, adjacent to Loading Docks K055 and M005, the east entrance doors to the Registration Hall on Level 0 (J011, J012, F011, F012), and at Service Corridor A115 on Level 1 as shown on the Drawings. Remove and legally dispose of doors, offsite as shown on the Drawings. Provide new sets of exterior doors where shown in the Drawings to match existing exterior door systems. Provide new interior double doors where shown in the Drawings. Provide steel reinforcing as shown on the Drawings above the southeast doors in Loading Dock M005 on Level 0. Provide soffit wall and metal stud framing to match existing above Level 0 southeast doors after new door lintel is installed. Provide new light gauge metal framing and drywall above Level 1 interior fire rated double door. Disconnect and reinstall electrical equipment as required to install new doors, performed by licensed electricians. The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (the "Authority") will receive sealed General bids for the THOMAS MICHAEL MENINO CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTER South End Doors (T07a) at the administrative Offices of the Authority at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02210, until 12:00 p.m. local time on June 3, 2026 immediately after which, in a designated room, the general bids will be opened and read publicly. A prebid conference will be held at 10:00am on May 13, 2026, starting at the North Lobby of the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC) located at 415 Summer Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The prebid conference will be followed by a walkthrough of the site. Questions or requests for information, clarification or interpretation of the bidding documents must be submitted to procurement@massconvention.com in writing in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2025. Each general bid on this contract must be accompanied by a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) showing that the bidder has the classification and capacity rating to perform the work required. In order to be eligible to bid on this contract, a general bidder must be certified for the estimated project cost of $358,314 and for the following category of work: Prime Contractors – Doors and Windows.
