Description
Notice is hereby given by District of Tofino of its intent to purchase direct from Associated Fire Safety Group self contained breathing apparatus systems and associated equipment made by 3M Scott. The District of Tofino will be purchasing the following:15x 3M Scott X3 Pro Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (model X8914026005304) 30x 3M Scott Vision C5 Facepiece (model 200954-32) 40x 3M Scott Cylinder & Valve Assembly, 45 minute (model 200129-01) 1x 3M Scott Cylinder & Valve Assembly, 60 minute (model 804723-01) 1x 3M Scott RIT-PAK III (model 200954-32) The maximum cost of the proposed service over three years is $186,009.00. This does not include GST or shipping fees.
As the value of this particular contract is estimated to be or over the NWPTA threshold for goods and services this notification is required under NWPTA for single/sole supplier procurement. The District of Tofino has chosen not to tender the contemplated contract for the following reasons:The Tofino Volunteer Fire Department currently uses Scott SCBA systems. Continuing with Scott products will ensure efficient implementation of new equipment with minimal required training and integration. Tofino Volunteer Fire Department has only one mutual aid partner who also uses Scott SCBA systems. This purchase ensures that both departments are using the same SCBA systems in an emergency. Associated Fire Safety Group is one of two suppliers of 3M Scott SCBA in Western Canada. The other supplier has declined to provide a quote.
