The proposed contract requires Archaeological Assessment Services for timber sale licence development located across multiple operating areas in the East Kootenay Business Area.
The contract will require qualified professionals and technical staff working in various conditions including isolated areas. Archaeological Impact Assessments will help BC Timber Sales meet its goals and sales targets.
Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year to meet the business area quarterly targets. Projects will be completed concurrently as delivered or a priority list will be assigned.
The successful Contractor must obtain a Heritage Conservation Act permit prior to conducting archaeology assessments and must apply within two weeks of signing the contract with the Province. Contact the BCTS contract representative for more information.

The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
