The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, intends to issue a request for quotes to provide and install fixed knot, woven wire fencing and gates to contain feral swine in Kingsville, TX.
Background: African Swine Fever is a highly contagious and deadly swine disease responsible for billions of dollars of damage to the global pork industry. Although the US has not yet detected ASF, its presence in the nearby Dominican Republic since 2021 and the devastation it has recently caused across Europe highlights the need for US preparedness.
Work will involve clearing heavy brush and building fenced enclosures. The NAICS code for this project is 238990, with a small business size standard of $19 million. It is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor this site for amendments, if any. Questions concerning this synopsis should be directed to Jim Roloff, contracting officer, at james.g.roloff@usda.gov.
