The project location in the County of Santa Cruz is as follows:
Lode Street in Santa Cruz County.
This contract involves the construction of a public water main and appurtenances to be owned by the City of Santa Cruz Water Department and the construction of a non-City-owned water service lateral to the D.A. Porath Facility owned by the Santa Cruz County Sanitation District. All the work will be bid under this contract, however, the work for the City-owned water facilities will also be subject to the terms and conditions of the City of Santa Cruz Water Department Construction Contract (draft version included in the Information Handout). During your work on the portion of the project denoted as ‘City’ Improvements, you shall meet the requirements in the City’s contract, in addition to the requirements in these Special Provisions. The bid items will be tracked separately under the two contracts as reflected by the two Bid Item Tables. Award will be based on the combined total of all items.
The estimated total cost of the project is $184,000. The District’s estimated contract total is $140,000.
The City of Santa Cruz Water Department estimated contract total is $44,000.
There are 30 working days in this contract.
The Contractor must have either a Class A license or a combination of Class C licenses which constitutes a majority of the work: C-34 and C-36.
Contractor and all listed subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code.
Prevailing wages are required on this Contract. The Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations determines the general prevailing wage rates. Obtain the wage rates at the DIR Web site, http://www.dir.ca.gov , or from the Department's Labor Compliance Office of the district in which the work is located.
Under the California Uniform Public Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA), Public Contract Code (PCC) Section 22032 allows work on public projects of two hundred thousand, twenty dollars ($220,000) or less may be let to contract by informal procedures. This work is not subject to formal bidding procedures and no bidder security/bond will be required. The District is soliciting bids to perform this work and will select the lowest bidder to perform the work.
District will be the sole judge as to the technical acceptability of any proposals and any award will be as determined most advantageous to the District considering such factors as completeness and responsiveness to this solicitation, experience, references, and anticipated costs. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or parts thereof and to waive any informality or irregularity in any proposal.
