The Department of Human Services (DHS) intends to enter into an agreement with Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc., for up to 36 months. The agreement will provide continued subscription access to Lippincott Procedures and Lippincott Advisor. The resources are used by nursing and clinical staff at the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) division of DHS. The resources provide evidence-based information so comparison can be made to support decision making. Reviews of the material provided by Lippincott are conducted annually by medical staff to assess and mitigate risk in the use of the materials.
After a search, DHS determined that this is the only vendor that can provide rapid access to online resources that sync with DCT’s electronic health records system and provide point of care information to support decision making and educational information for care related procedures. There are no other vendors that provide Lippincott that have DCT competencies and critical notes imbedded. In addition, W olters Kluwer Health, Inc., is the sole creator and publisher of these web-based products and they are not available for purchase through any other parties. For these reasons, DHS determined this to be a single source purchase.
