Description


The Glynn County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids from qualified construction firms for the construction of a new 7,483-square-foot, two-story facility with a central three-story tower at Coast Guard Beach Park on St. Simons Island. The project will include site development and full build-out of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems, making the facility ready for occupancy. This new facility is intended to enhance public amenities at the park and support long-term coastal recreation and safety objectives.

The County intends to release two Invitation for Bids, one for Mass Grading, Site Utilities and Parking Lot refereed to as Scope A; and one for the Building and Park refereed to as Scope B. This specific IFB will address Scope B.
The Coast Guard Beach Park project is a strategic investment by Glynn County to enhance public amenities and support long-term community access and safety at one of the region's most popular coastal destinations. Located at 4100 First Street on St. Simons Island, the project involves constructing a 7,483-square-foot, two-story facility with a central three-story tower. This facility will serve as a critical public asset, providing improved infrastructure to support recreational activities, emergency response operations, and visitor services. The project reflects Glynn County¿s broader commitment to coastal resiliency, public safety, and high-quality infrastructure through thoughtful, forward-looking design and execution. A portion of this project is funded through a Grant from the GA Department of Natural Resources therefore all State Grant Funding requirements apply.
