RAW WATER PUMP STATION: FIBER OPTIC CABLE INSTALLATION FOR THE BREWER WATER DEPARTMENT

Price quotations for installing a fiber optic cable between the raw water pump station located at the northern end of Hatcase Pond and the water treatment facility located at 257 Hatcase Pond Road within the Town of Eddington will be received by Rodney Butler, Superintendent, at the Brewer Water Department (BWD) office, located at 223 Greenpoint Road, Brewer, Maine 04402 until 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Proposals shall be provided in sealed envelopes, and clearly marked “Proposal for Raw Water Pump Station Fiber Optic Cable Installation”.

A pre-bid meeting is proposed at the site (257 Hatcase Pond Road) for Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9:00 AM. This pre-bid meeting is not mandatory but is HIGHLY recommended for the Contractors to familiarize themselves with the existing site conditions.

Proposals shall meet the requirements set forth in the attached drawing and specification packet.  Quoted prices shall remain firm and subject to acceptance for a minimum of 30 days of the proposal date, and shall include all costs associated with materials, equipment, and labor for installing the fiber optic cable, including disposal of debris associated with the work in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements. Individuals submitting proposals should be aware that the work must be completed in accordance with the contract documents and in coordination with the water department to maintain water flow to the users of the water system at all times.

At the time of the opening of proposals, each Bidder will be presumed to have inspected the site and to have read and be thoroughly familiar with the Request for Bid Proposals, including any and all Addenda. The failure or omission of any Bidder to receive or examine any form, instrument, or document shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation in respect to his Proposal.  Construction practices used on this project must be in accordance with the generally accepted standards for the specific trade involved in the project.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to negotiate with any party submitting a proposal for the work.
