ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-129 and Forsyth County policy, sealed proposals endorsed “Structural
Cabling and Camera Project, FB2681” will be received by City/County Purchasing, 101 N. Main
Street, Winston-Salem, NC until 1:00 PM, January 9, 2026, when they will be publicly opened and
read aloud in City Hall Room 16. Forsyth County reserves the right to waive any informalities in the
bidding and to reject any or all bids.
Instructions for submitting bids may be obtained during normal business hours by contacting Darren
Redfield at darrenmr@cityofws.org (preferred) or 336-747-6936. The bidding documents with floor
plans are available electronically upon request starting November 12. End of Question period is 4:00
PM, December 3, 2025.
This is a purchase with installation contract. The scope of work is to furnish and install a complete
structured cabling solution meeting the current ANSI/TIA standards, including racks, network drops,
demo of existing with optional pricing for a complete camera system.
A MANDATORY pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 am, November 25, 2025. Meet at the front
entrance of the Forsyth County (Law Enforcement) Detention Center, 201 N. Church Street, Winston-
Salem, NC 27101. Forsyth County will not consider bids from prime bidders who do not have a
representative attend this mandatory conference. Interested bidders must submit documentation -- at
least 5 business days in advance of this meeting -- for a County background check to enter the facility.
Note: attendees are advised to bring copies of the plans, ladders, measuring wheels, flashlights, etc. to
conduct all due diligence during this facility tour.
