Over view:
DOT is seeking a ladder/metal fabricator to furnish and install an aluminum building ladder on the exterior of the Des Moines North Garage.  Per plans/specifications outlined on the Attachments tab.
Contract Award

It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule . Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity.

Any questions related to this project are to be submitted to Julie Brown in writing preferable through the IONwave Bid system. (See the cut off period for question submissions)
DOT Estimated Start Date: Upon issuance of award (The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract
Project end date- 06/01/2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids).
Site Visits: It is recommended that prospective bidders on these projects shall visit the job site prior to submitting a quotation. To schedule a site visit contractors must contact Julie Brown at julie.brown@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit.
No considerations or revision in the contract price or scope of the project will be considered by the Iowa DOT for any item which could have been revealed by a thorough on-site inspection and examination.
Davis-Bacon wages do not apply.
This is a tax exempt project.
