Pre-Solicitation Site Visit - Hand Clearing, Sediment Removal, and Drainage Restoration

The purpose of this site visit is to review existing field conditions and discuss the proposed scope
of work for hand clearing, sediment removal, and drainage restoration along approximately
1,700 linear feet of existing drainage ditch, extending east from the yellow highlighted location
on the project map toward Old Bradenton Road, terminating at the red highlighted location. The
site visit will allow interested contractors and County representatives to evaluate accumulated
sediment, drainage obstructions, existing tree roots, limited equipment access, and other site-
specific conditions that may affect the means and methods of performing the work. Discussion
will also include restoring the ditch bottom to appropriate elevations, reestablishing positive
drainage, reducing water backup into the adjacent parking lot, and coordinating required utility
locates before work begins. Contractors should review the provided project maps and field
photographs and use the site visit to evaluate the work area and identify considerations necessary
for preparing a responsive solicitation.
