The City of Natchez will receive sealed bids for 2312- Natchez Public Works – Mowing
and Trimming of Select Medians on State Highways- 2026, in the O ice of the City Clerk, 124
South Pearl Street, Natchez, MS 39120, until 10:00 A.M. CST on Thursday, March 5, 2026,
with bids then publicly opened, read aloud, and thereafter taken under advisement until the
next meeting of the Natchez Mayor and Board of Alderman.
The funding for the 2312-Natchez Public Works-Mowing and Trimming of Select
Medians on State Highways-2026 is a part of the Natchez Public Works Fiscal Year 2026
Budget. No state and/or federal funds will be used for this project.
The Bid Package, which consists of a project map detailing the mowing areas and bid
form, are available for viewing and purchase in the O ice of the City Clerk, 124 South Pearl
Street, Natchez, MS 39120 for $20.00 non-refundable, which partially covers the cost of
reproduction and handling.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The main items of work consist of mowing, trimming,
collection and disposal of liter, and spraying concrete median and landscape areas.
Chemicals used for spraying concrete medians and landscape areas shall not be of the type
that would damage landscape and plantings. Chemical type must be approved by the owner
before use. In addition, mowing litter shall not be accepted. The Contractor shall commence
work on March 1, 2026 and shall complete a minimum of 18 mowings, trimmings and
sprayings each year by the last day of February the following year. Contractor shall complete
one mowing per month during the term of the original contract and one additional mowing
per month during the growing season or as directed by the Owner.
The term of the contract will be for a three (3) year period, with the Year 1 contract
pricing being the contract value for both Year 2 and Year 3.
Any bid accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which
the bids are tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such bids will not be considered
in making the award. All bids submitted must comply with Section 31-3-21 and 31-7-13 of
the Mississippi Code of 1972.
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident
state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their
bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident
contractors current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.
No bid may be altered, modified or withdrawn within (30) days after being filed with
the City of Natchez.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to
negotiate with the lowest and best bidder to reduce the bid price to come within the funds
allocated for the work, to reduce the job in order to stay within available funding or as
