The City of Greenville lies in the northwest foothills of the State of South Carolina and, as such, may experience massive destruction brought by the impact of severe winter ice storms, violent storms spawning tornadoes as well as other natural and/or manmade disasters (Events); and it is foreseen that it may be necessary to provide for debris removal and disaster recovery technical assistance to the City, resulting from these events.
Therefore, the City is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide professional services related to all aspects of federal public assistance and mitigation assistance following a declared disaster incident for a period of five (5) years. It is the intent of this RFP to enter into a post-event contract, which would result in no immediate cost to the City of Greenville.
The City is currently under contract with (2) debris removal contractors – a primary and secondary vendor – through May of 2027. The contracted firm(s) will need to manage said debris contractors, in the event a disaster event occurs. The City reserves the right to award to one or multiple vendors under this RFP. All of the services to be provided will be under the direction of the Public Works Director, or their designee(s).
