Project: Procurement of an Automated Biogas Analyzer



USDA-ARS, Coastal Plains Soil, Water and Plant Research Center, 2611 West Lucas Street, Florence, SC 29501



GENERAL INFORMATION



1.0 Scope of Work: Purchase of one Automated Biogas Analyzer



2.0 Background: Automatic methane potential system (gas endeavour) unit, a bench scale laboratory biogas measuring system (hardware and software) that measures bio methane potential (BMP) of any organic matter. Equipment is used to analyze the production of biogas (predominantly methane) from natural (e.g., soils and wastewater) materials for the Center, as well as other ARS units across the United States.



CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS



3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:



Minimum Requirements




  1. Must have High precision gas volume and flow meter capabilities for up to 18 parallel gas streams.

  2. Must have PC-less operation, with capabilities for data access locally or remotely from any device with web-browser capabilities.

  3. Must have Automated measurements with pressure, temperature, and moisture compensation controls.

  4. Must be Capable of performing simultaneous batch and continuous sample analyses.

  5. Must be Capable of estimating gas composition.

  6. Must be Capable of controlling sample agitation (speed, direction, and timing) for up to 18 different gas streams.

  7. Must be Capable of measuring methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen (H2), and nitrogen (N2) gases.

  8. Footprint must not exceed 60 x 20 x 20 cm.

  9. Must have Minimum measurement resolution of 2 mL.

  10. Must Ship fully assembled.
