Summary Details
The Supplier will complete wildfire risk reduction fuel treatments on behalf of the District. The work includes fuel treatment of approximately 39 ha north of Denike Rd. and Bathville Rd./Princeton Summerland Rd. This is the second phase of fuel treatments for the prescription area, with a portion of Fuel Treatment Unit 7B already completed. The scope of work for this RFP includes all remaining work for FTU 7A and 7B.

Submission of Proposals
To be considered, Proposals must be submitted via bids&tenders online bid submissions functionality in accordance with the instructions in the Opportunity document. Proposals must be received no later than the Opportunity Closing Date & Time. It is solely the responsibility of the Respondent to ensure that the Proposal is received on time.

There will be no public opening.

Requirements for Participation and Requirements to Request to Participate
Prior to the evaluation of Proposals, the District will review each Proposal to determine if it complies with the mandatory submission requirements provided in this Opportunity. Respondents whose Proposals were received on time and as instructed, but do not meet any of the other mandatory submission requirements, will be offered an opportunity to rectify their Proposals in accordance with Section 3.9.Mandatory Criteria1The Proposal must be received before the Closing Date & Time, in accordance with the requirements of Section 3.1 – Opportunity Schedule2The Proposal must be submitted in accordance with the requirements of Section 3.8 – Submission of Proposals3The Proposal must include the following completed forms:                        Appendix B – Pricing Form                                Appendix C – Scored Criteria Form
The Supplier shall provide the District with proof of the following prior to beginning work on this project:A Business License that allows the Contractor to perform work in Summerland (either a Summerland Business License or an Inter-Community/Mobile Business License from another Okanagan-Similkameen municipality).        WorkSafeBC Clearance Letter (or equivalent if the Contractor operates in another jurisdiction) addressed to the District of Summerland, indicating that account is active and in good standing, or the Contractor must provide proof of exempt status in the form of a status determination letter from WorkSafeBC. As the process to obtain a status determination letter may take some time, Respondents are urged to contact WorkSafeBC (or equivalent) immediately if they do not have WorkSafeBC coverage.         Commercial General Liability Insurance coverage with Fire Fighting Expense Endorsement as per the requirements detailed in Appendix A – Form of Agreement.         Automobile Liability Insurance coverage as per the requirements detailed in Appendix A – Form of Agreement.
Term of Engagement
The successful Respondent should be prepared to commence work immediately after the Agreement is awarded. The District would prefer that the work, including pile burning, be completed by April 15, 2026, but the timelines may be extended if weather conditions aren’t suitable for burning.
