UCS Hardware Upgrades

The City of Orlando is inviting bids from authorized Cisco resellers for the purchase of the specified Cisco hardware, software, licensing, and manufacturer support. The City has worked with Cisco to design a technical solution to meet the needs of the City. The City does not wish to consider alternate manufacturers, model numbers, etc., in substitution for the items specified in this solicitation.

The City of Orlando is replacing the UCS hardware components (hosts, chassis, and fabric interconnect) at the Orlando Operations Center and City Hall that have reached end of support. The Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) is a hardware platform that hosts all the virtual servers in the City. The UCS houses multiple server blades that provide resources such as CPU and memory that the virtual servers rely on. These server blades are grouped into clusters that support different virtual servers used by all the departments in the City of Orlando. These hardware components (hosts, chassis, and fabric interconnects) need to be replaced due to age, to be on vendor-supported hardware.
