Synopsis:
|
|
The RM of Estevan is accepting tenders for work to upgrade the Rafferty Dam Road located in the RM of Estevan west of the City of Estevan between Highway 39 and Highway 18 including improvements to the road located over the Rafferty Dam main dam embankment and west dike embankment. Refer to the additonal information section for further details of the proposed work. Bids will be accepted under seal at the RM of Estevan office located at 322 Fourth Street Estevan, SK S4A 0T8 or electronically in pdf format to rm5@rmestevan.ca. Inquiries related to the tender can be forwarded to the Billy Fowler the RM of Estevan Engineering Services Manager at engineering@rmestevan.ca. The planned schedule for this road work will be between May 12, 2025 and June 30, 2025. The project timeline is not flexible and bidders must commit to having the road work completed within this time frame.

The following is a description of the work that is proposed under this tender:
Upgrade of Rafferty Dam Road
-from Highway 39 south to the Rafferty Dam Main Embankment and from Highway 18 north to the Rafferty Dam West Dike Embankment including narrowing of embankment width through side slope excavation, raising of embankment surface through placement of excavated side slope material on existing road embankment surface, subgrade preparation, gravel incorporation, grading, shaping and compaction of road surface to required specifications.
-from Rafferty Dam Spillway south over the main dam embankment and west through the end of the Rafferty Dam west dike embankment including cleaning of excess material between cable barrier guard rail support posts to facilitate improved drainage, supply placement and compaction of base course material to raise the elevation of the main dam embankment surface, subgrade preparation, grading shaping and compaction of road surface to required specification.
-Traffic gravel behind construction supplied and hauled by the contractor for both sections of road upgrades will also be required as part of the contract.
