Multifamily Housing Development

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Humboldt Planning & Building Department is soliciting proposals for construction of multifamily affordable housing in the unincorporated area of Humboldt County, California. This project will utilize a combination of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, Local Housing Trust Fund and Permanent Local Housing Allocation.

Interested parties may download the RFP at: https://humboldtgov.org/Bids or pick up a copy of the RFP from the Department, at 3015 H Street, Eureka, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Mon-Thurs. The RFP provides specific information about the scope of services, submissions requirements, evaluation criteria and selection procedures. A.        Minimum and Maximum Project Size. Projects must have at least 8 residential rental units. There is no maximum project size.

B.        Mixed-use projects. Projects that include three or more uses, with two uses other than residential rental, are NOT eligible.

C.        Combination Projects. Projects that include two uses, one other than residential rental, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

D.        Maximum Award. The maximum award is two million seven hundred fifty thousand four hundred eighty dollars ($2,750,480). Smaller awards may be given to multiple applicants if applications are under the maximum funding amount.

E.        Leverage Requirement. None; although applicants are encouraged to provide evidence of additional funding ensuring project completion.
