Title: Youth Violence Prevention Program - Request for Information
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 12/6/2024
Due Date: 12/20/2024
Pierce County Human Services is seeking agencies interested in providing violence prevention and/or reduction services to youth in targeted areas. Funding would be for a 4-year period, with annual contract renewal based on performance. The services would be rendered from January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2030.
Amount of funding available each year: $400,000.
Pierce County has seen a rise in violent incidents involving youth. Prevention programs can take time to show positive outcomes and Pierce County is committed to helping youth have access to programs that can impact their lives long-term. Therefore, Pierce County Human Services is seeking agencies to participate in long-term funding to implement and evaluate programs/services that can show improvements to youth over time.
Based on an analysis of data from the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), the Healthy Youth Survey, and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Report Card, Pierce County Human Services has determined that the areas needing the greatest support around youth violence reduction are in the catchment areas for Eatonville, Franklin Pierce, and White River School Districts.
