Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Glendale Unified School District, Los

Angeles County, California on behalf of the San Gabriel Valley Food Cooperative Purchasing

Group requests sealed proposals up to but no later than 12 noon on September 8, 2026 for the

following:

RFP No. 004-26/27 Sandwiches Ready-to-Serve and Delivery

Glendale Unified School District (“GUSD” or “District”) is the lead district on behalf of the San

Gabriel Valley Food Cooperative Purchasing Group (“SGV Co-Op”) for the Request for

Proposal (“RFP”) No. 004-26/27. SGV Co-Op consists of 30 Member Districts, ten (10) of

which have provided projected annual usage. The purpose of this RFP (also referred to as “bid”)

is to furnish the SGV Co-Op Member Districts with sandwiches ready-to-serve that are 1)

compliant with USDA meal pattern standards for student meals, 2) produced in a facility

compliant with the California Retail Food Code regulations; and 3) delivered in vehicles and

equipment compliant with the California Retail Food Code regulations for the 2026-2027 school

year.

No guarantee can be given that any or all items or services under this RFP will be: a) purchased;

b) that the stated amounts will be reached; or, c) that they will not be exceeded. Respondent

(also referred to as “bidder") agrees to furnish more or less at the prices quoted in accordance

with the actual requirements throughout the contract period.

Each proposal must conform and be responsive to the RFP documents, terms, and conditions.

Prospective respondents will be selected to participate in a taste test which will become a part of

the overall proposal evaluation process. Each individual SGV Co-Op Member District will act

as the sole judge on whether the contract requirements are met to the district’s satisfaction.

GUSD in coordination with SGV Co-Op reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to

waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. No bidder may

withdraw any bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening of

the sealed bids.

Contract documents will be available on or before August 11, 2026 for review at the District

Procurement & Contract Services website at: https://gusd.net/active-bids

The District may award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the most responsive and responsible

bidder(s) that offer the best value at the lowest cost. Awarded bidder(s) will receive a purchase

order to proceed with the procurement from each participating SGV Co-Op Member District.

All requests for information (“RFI”) inquiries regarding this bid must be submitted in writing

and e-mailed to Barbara Howard at BHoward@gusd.net no later than 1:00 p.m. local time on

August 25, 2026.
