PUBLIC NOTICE

Separate sealed bids for the Gunlock Observation Wells will be received by the Washington County Water Conservancy District at its office at 533 East Waterworks Drive, St. George, Utah 84770, until no later than 10:00 AM, September 18, 2026. At that time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held in the boardroom at 533 East Waterworks Drive, St. George, Utah 84770 on September 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Any bidder not attending the pre-bid conference will be considered non-responsive.

The Project consists of drilling, constructing, and developing three observations wells at depths of 250, 450, and 550 feet in the Navajo Sandstone and one observation well at a depth of 1,000 feet in the underlying Kayenta formation in the Gunlock Wellfield to (1) assess the safe yield of the area, (2) define aquifer parameters such as hydraulic conductivity and storativity, (3) determine the interconnectivity of the Navajo and Kayenta aquifers, and (4) delineate local water level trends as influenced by pumping area wells. The 250- and 450-foot wells will be constructed with two-inch diameter Schedule 80 PVC casing and screen, and the 550- and 1,000-foot wells will be constructed with two-inch diameter steel casing and screen.
