The City of Lacombe seeks quotes from qualified contractors to perform acoustic leak detection services for the municipal water distribution system. This RFQ aims to identify a contractor capable of efficiently detecting leaks and assisting with data collection and delivery for system maintenance and planning.
Lacombe’s water pipe network measures 99.6 km today, with the most significant system growth between 1990 and 2009. Its pipes have an average age of 29 years, with the majority (82% or 81 km) made of PVC, approximately 4900 service connections and 1,251 valves.
The selected contractor will be responsible for acoustic leak detection throughout the City. Specific activities include:
• Conduct a system-wide listening survey to identify active leaks.
