Purpose of Procurement
Pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) is being issued to establish a contract with a qualified supplier who will provide Telecommunications Structured Cabling to the Kennesaw State University (the State Entity) as further described in this eRFP.
Purpose of Procurement
Kennesaw State University (KSU) is soliciting proposals from qualified suppliers to provide comprehensive telecommunications and data infrastructure services for construction and renovation projects across its Kennesaw and Marietta campuses. This procurement includes the design, installation, testing, and documentation of structured cabling systems¿encompassing fiber optic and CAT 6A copper cabling¿as well as associated infrastructure such as equipment racks, cable trays, grounding systems, and wireless access point installations.
Description of Services
The awarded contractor(s) will be responsible for delivering a complete, standards-compliant telecommunications system that supports voice, data, and network connectivity throughout academic, administrative, and auxiliary facilities. The scope includes both inside and outside plant work, with detailed specifications for MDF/IDF room construction, environmental controls, power requirements, and pathway coordination.
This procurement represents a significant opportunity for suppliers with demonstrated experience in large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects. KSU adheres to strict industry standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEC) and requires all work to be coordinated with its University Information Technology Services (UITS) department. Historical spend and project magnitude vary by building and phase, and multiple divisions and stakeholders may be involved in each deployment.
A mandatory Offerors¿ Conference will be held to provide prospective suppliers with an overview of the project scope, expectations, and technical requirements. Attendance is required in order to submit a proposal. This conference will offer an opportunity to ask questions, clarify specifications, and ensure alignment
