NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Contract EGI-2025-01: Highway 55 Sidewalk Extension
Sealed bids for Contract EGI-2025-01, Highway 55 Sidewalk Extension, will be received by the
City of Durham, Environmental & Street Services Department, at Environmental & Street
Services, 101 City Hall Plaza, Ste. 3100, Durham, NC 27701, until September 25, 2026, at 2:00
PM, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Scope of Work: The work to be performed under this contract shall provide pedestrian
connectivity from the Riddle Road trail extending southerly along the Circle K frontage.
Pre-Bid Meeting: An in-person meeting will be held on September 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at City
Hall in Ste. 3207. Attendance is not mandatory but is highly recommended.
Contract Documents: The Project Manual and other project information will be available by
request via email: Eric.Halstead@DurhamNC.gov
This advertisement for bids will also be available on the City of Durham, Department of Finance,
Purchasing Division website at http://durhamnc.gov/bids.aspx and on the project web site at
https://www.durhamnc.gov/5576/.
Bid Security: Each bid must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or bid
bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid.
Contract Time: The contract time for substantial completion is 120 calendar days from the
Notice to Proceed.
Licensed Bidders: Each bidder must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General
Statutes. The City Council of the City of Durham reserves the right to reject any or all the Bids.
All bids must include a non-collusion affidavit.
