Description

The British Columbia Ministry of Forests annually conducts an Aerial Overview Survey (AOS) for Forest Health to facilitate the overview mapping of major damaging agents in the Thompson Okanagan Region.

This work requires a fixed-wing aircraft and an experienced pilot. The Contractor must provide one fixed-wing aircraft, such as a Cessna U206G, Cessna 210C or equivalent, to complete this work between July 1 – October 15, 2025, at the discretion of the Ministry representative. The Ministry will provide two trained AOS mappers to conduct the Aerial Overview Survey mapping.

The AOS will be based out of Kamloops, and is anticipated to occur between July 1st – August 31st, 2025 (anticipated start date July 10, 2025) but can occur until October 15 st , 2025 if weather or other conditions (e.g. smoky skies) necessitate a delay.

Option to RenewThe Contract contains an 'option to renew' clause whereby the Ministry reserves the right to but is under no obligation to renew the Contract for a further term of up to a further term of 12 months to a maximum of 2 years, subject to funding and satisfactory performance of the Contractor.  As renewal is not assured, Proponents are cautioned to prepare their price based on a single term contract only.  Should the option-to-renew be exercised, the bid rate or bid price is expected to remain unchanged in the subsequent term unless, in the ministry's sole opinion, a negotiated rate change is warranted. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any renewal of the Contract shall be at the Province's sole discretion.
