Bids for RFB 25-0293 were originally received on Friday, December 19, 2024, at 3:00 PM. An insufficient number of competitive bids were received; therefore, NC General Statures dictate the solicitation must be rebid.

We are soliciting re-bids due no later than 3:00PM Friday, January 10th, 2025, for public bid opening.

Pursuant to GS 143-129, sealed bids addressed to David King, Senior Facilities Coordinator, New Hanover County Facilities Management, 200 Division Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 and marked “ 320 Chestnut upfit w/mechanical scope: RFB # 25-0293 will be accepted until 3:00 PM EST, Friday, January 10, 2024, for the following work:

1.1 NHC 320 Chestnut 3 rd upfit:

Work includes the interior office upfit of approximately 2500 sq. ft. and associated plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection system work as outlined in the attached drawings and specifications. Office upfit includes selective demolition, light gauge stud partitions and gypsum wall board, porcelain tile and carpet tile flooring, resilient wall base, interior painting, acoustic tile ceilings, interior aluminum storefront windows and door frames, flush wood doors, and architectural wood casework with solid surface countertops.

1.2 NHC 320 Chestnut 1 st , 3 rd and 5 th floor mechanical replacement

Work also includes replacement of the existing HVAC system for the entire 3rd floor. Scope includes replacement of rooftop units serving 3rd floor. Major additional alternates include 1 st and 5 th floor HVAC system replacement.

1.3 NHC 320 Chestnut 1 st , 3 rd and 5 th floor occupancy and public travel

Existing 1 st , 3 rd and 5 th floors are and will be partially occupied. Upfit work will be adjacent to occupied and public access spaces. Construction activity should be limited to workspaces to minimize disruption of occupants. Employee occupants will be relocated during replacement of HVAC system, but some furniture and equipment may remain in the space. Limited Public access in adjacent spaces will require travel ways and safety exits to be maintained clear. Contractor to coordinate with Owner to schedule HVAC and upfit work.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud following the latest time for receipt of bids in the New Hanover County Facilities Management Office @ 200 Division Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Bids will be received for a Single Prime Contract. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statues. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment, if applicable.

A Bid Bond Equal to 5% of the base bid price is required by all bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.

No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after bid opening date.

The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities.

The County reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which is in the best interest of the County.

recorded, evaluated and certified by the Architect.
