Sealed bids should be addressed to Lena Butler, Purchasing Supervisor at New
Hanover County Finance Department. 230 Government Center Drive Wilmington, NC
28403. They should be marked with "Holly Shelter Road Business Park- Roadway
Infrastructure Improvements- Phase 1". Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in
the New Hanover County Finance Department Office.
Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of MC General Statues and pre-
qualified in accordance with New Hanover County's pre-qualification ordinance.
Refer to the prequalification section in manual for sub-contractors.

5. Contract Overview
A. Project consists of the following:
* A new pump station including 12' ID wetwall, duplex submersible pumps with
one spare pump, valve vault, prefabricated control building, backup
generator, SCADA, and other associated appurtenances. Designed per
CFPUA Standards and CFPUA Inspector will be on-site during construction.
* Work will include pump station installation, testing, and start up etc.
* Proposed onsite divided median roadway with paved and grassed shoulders,
approximately 2,750 LF.
* Work will include, clearing and grubbing, grading, paving, drainage, utilities,
erosion control, and striping.
* Utilities include 16" C-900 watermain along the entire length of the roadway,
10" PVC Sanitary sewer along the entire length of the roadway, and 12" C-
900 sanitary sewer force main from lift station to ROW. Designed per CFPUA
Standards and CFPUA Inspector will be on-site during construction.
* Proposed offsite right turn lane with paved and grassed shoulders
approximately 800 LF off Holly Shleter Road
* Work will include, clearing and grubbing, grading, paving, drainage, erosion
control, and striping.
* Storm drainage will consist of roadside ditches and cross culverts (RCP and
Aluminum Box Culverts that vary in sizes)
* Duke Energy will be installing underground electric to serve the pump station
and future site.
* Geotech Reports are included in project manual for both the roadway project
area as well as the lift station.

6. Minority Participation Goals
Bidders shall comply with the M/WBE program by making Good Faith Efforts to achieve
10% participation.

9. Contract Times
