NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all bidders and interested parties that the Advertisement
of Proposals, Bid Proposals, Contract Documents, and Specifications of the subject
project are hereby modified only insofar as the following clarifications, corrections,
changes, and amendments are concerned. The Bidder MUST acknowledge the
receipt of this addendum and attach a signed copy to the Proposal section of the
Contract Documents.
QUESTIONS
1- Sheet 9 / 10: Is the RIM of 315.01 for Manhole 14K15 at STA 42+36 correct? The
elevation profile does not match.
RESPONSE: Rim elevation for Manhole 14K15 is 315.01.
2- Can the laterals be replaced by pipe bursting?
RESPONSE: Yes, laterals can be pipe burst with fused HDPE
3- Where are the 2 EA manholes to be rehabilitated per Bid Item 17, 18 & 19 located?
RESPONSE: These are allowances for the City to field direct rehabilitation if
needed.

4- Spec 33 05 07 refers to conductor casings and annular space grouting, and that
the lengths of the conductor casings are shown on the drawings, which they are not.
Are conductor casings and annular space grouting required for the HDD installation?
RESPONSE: No, the soil condition within the project area doesn’t dictate the
use of a conductor.
5- Please provide the entire Geotechnical Soils Report as referenced in the
specifications.

6- The Town Standard Trench detail C-16 states that grinding & paving is required.
Can we saw cut in lieu of grind? In addition is fabric in the pavement required?
RESPONSE: Saw-cutting is acceptable in lieu of grinding. There is no need to
use fabric for paving restoration in this project.
7- Pre-Bid Meeting – Questions and Clarifications
The following items were discussed during the pre-bid meeting:
Question 1 – Asbestos Pipe Disposal
Bidders inquired about the availability of disposal facilities for asbestos pipe materials,
noting the limited options in Northern California.
• Staff subsequently confirmed that a facility in Reno, Nevada will accept asbestos
pipes.
• Associated costs are as follows:
o Transport: $250/hour
o Disposal: $65/cubic yard
Question 2 – Horizontal Directional Boring and Geotechnical Data
Bidders inquired about potential subsurface conditions along Parrott Drive, specifically the
possibility of encountering hard rock at depths of 20 to 25 feet.
• Staff confirmed that the geotechnical report identified the presence of sandstone at
one boring location.

• A summary of the geotechnical investigation is included as an attachment to the bid
documents.
Clarification – Plan Note Correction
A correction is hereby issued to the profile drawing on page 10 of the plans:
• The note reading “6-INCH VCP TO 6-INCH HDPE” shall be revised to read: “6-
INCH VCP TO 8-INCH HDPE.”
The following Addenda were issued, modifying the Project Manual and
Contract Documents:
