The City of Framingham, through the Mayor of Framingham Massachusetts, the Awarding Authority invites sealed bids for IFB# 9043 – Old Academy Accessibility Project. The project consists of site and entry accessibility improvements to the historic Old Academy building. Work includes selective demolition of exterior and interior elements, including but not limited to the restoration of historic granite steps and curbing, installation of new accessible concrete steps, walkways, handrails, and associated grading and drainage work to bring the main entry into compliance with current accessibility codes. The scope also includes restoration of the existing historic wood entry door, including refinishing, repairs, and retrofitting for a new automatic door operator to improve accessibility while maintaining the buildings historic character, and other work indicated in the Contract Documents.

Sealed bids must be submitted electronically through the City’s Bidnet portal system. Bids submitted through any other means, such as mail, email or hand delivery, will not be accepted and will be rejected by the City as non-responsive.
Bids shall be submitted through Bidnet and are due on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Bidders to park in the Danforth Museum Parking Lot (park in visitor bays), 14 Vernon Street, Framingham, MA.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all submissions, to waive any minor informalities and technicalities, or to cancel the bid if it were in the public interest to do so.
