2026 Road Improvements

Project Description: SEALED PROPOSALS will be accepted by the Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors until 3:00 p.m. on Monday June 1, 2026, electronically via PennBid (www.pennbid.bonfirehub.com) for the following contracts:
“2026 Road Improvements” on various roads in Penn Forest Township
365 SY of 4” Bituminous Repair including milling and placing 4” of 25.0mm
110 SY of 2 ½” Depth Milling of Bridge Deck and approaches
27 SY of a Bridge Deck Waterproofing System
1,956 Tons of 9.5mm Leveling Course at 90 lb/sy
3,913 Tons of 9.5mm Wearing Course at 1 ½” Depth
1,300 Tons of 2A Aggregate for Shoulder Back-up
19,734 LF of 4” Double Yellow Center Line
33,468 LF of 4” Single White Edge Line
All materials and workmanship must meet PENNDOT Publication 408 Specifications and Standards.
For the “2026 Road Improvements” project the Bidders do not need to be PENNDOT prequalified.
PA Prevailing Wages apply to the “2026 Road Improvements” project.
Proposals must be on forms provided by the Township. Proposals must be submitted via PennBid.
Proposal forms, specifications and bid information can be obtained at no cost via PennBid.
Pre-Bid meetings will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday May 26, 2026, for the “2026 Road Improvements”
Project. This Pre-Bid meetings will be held at the Municipal Office located at 2010 State Route 903, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 all interested bidders should attend. This is not a mandatory meeting; however, this is the only field view to be conducted by the Municipality and only questions presented at this meeting will be addressed prior to the awards unless the Municipality feels additional items or explanations need to be presented. After the pre-bid meetings this will be in the form of a written notice to all bidders. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid made payable to Penn Forest Township.
The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract amount within 20 days of the award of the contract.
All bids will be opened publicly at a regular meeting of the Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors on Monday June 1, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows.
The Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or portions thereof, and to delete projects and/or portions of the project depending on budgetary constraints and also to waive any technicalities deemed to be in the best interested of the Township.
