Description:

The intent of this RFP is to bid the services of roof maintenance.   Over the past several years we have set-up a three-year rotation cycle so that at the end all roofs have been cleaned and minor repairs completed.  Thus, reducing the calls for emergencies and leaks.  During the contract period, which is one-year, the successful firm will be our on-call service provider for all leak service calls.

The Contract shall cover the period from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, or an equivalent period depending upon date of Contract award.

Sealed Proposals subject to the conditions made a part hereof will be received until

2:00 p.m., on February 11, 2025 for furnishing services described herein.  In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this opening will take place on the next business day.

Note: The County recommends using an over-night service or hand delivering the RFP response.

Note: The black-out date for questions shall be February 7, 2025 at noon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Indicate firm name, which is County of Davidson. The RFP number, which is above, on the front of each sealed proposal envelope or package, along with the date for receipt of proposals specified above.

NOTE: A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE

No admittance, if late, for the Pre-bid Conference.  You will be asked to leave.

For all prospective offerors is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. February 4, 2025 at the Support Services Department. Attendance at this conference is a prerequisite for consideration of an offeror's proposal.   Copies of the bid package will be available at the pre-bid conference. Prospective offerors are encouraged to submit written questions in advance. Address is listed above. The walk-throughs will be right after the pre-bid meeting (same day).  In the event the County is closed due to inclement weather, this meeting will take place on the next business day.

The Pre-bid Conference will never start at the jobsite.

It is the offeror's responsibility to assure that all addenda have been reviewed.

In order to assure a consistently high level of quality in providing the specified services provider must:
Be in business for a minimum of 5 years
Special Requirements:
General Requirements:
1.        Comply with quality control, references, specification and manufacturer’s data. Products containing asbestos are prohibited on this project. Use only asbestos free products.
2.        Use products with personal protection. User must read container label and material safety data sheets prior to use.

1. Annual Roof Top Housekeeping
a. Removal all debris
b. Scrub all algae covered areas
c. Wash off entire roof
d. Clean out all gutters
e. Clean out all roof drains
2. Annual Roof Preventive Maintenance
a. Seal all edge metal joints
b. Repair ripped seam
c. Repair flashing
d. Repair holes
e. Repair cuts
3. Before and after pictures of progress
The intent is to have a clean site.
Specifications for this project can be picked up at 925-A North Main Street at the Support Services Department,
Lexington, NC during regular working hours Monday through Friday.
The public opening for this project will be held at 2:00 p.m., on February 11, 2025. This opening will be held
in the Support Services Office, at the above address.
