The Maggie Gulch Project is located in and around Silverton, Colorado in San Juan County. There are three mines in Maggie Gulch, one at Eureka townsite, one in Burrows Gulch, one near the town of Silverton on the new Bakers Park bike trail, and four located south of Silverton below Highway 550. The Maggie Gulch project will safeguard mine sites, shafts/vertical openings, and adits/horizontal openings. The mine sites are in and around Silverton, Colorado in San Juan County. Access to some of the sites is possible with vehicles and equipment and other sites are remote and require hike in access and helicopter delivery of materials is suggested. A few of the sites are located at trailheads, on trails, and near campgrounds, making them a priority for safety closure due to recreation nearby.
