Description
Clearwater County has collaborated with Alberta Forestry and Parks in the development of the Nordegg Wildfire Mitigation Strategy (WMS). This WMS has identified priority areas near Nordegg that require fuel mitigation; Unit 3359 (28.3 hectares) and Units 1 (1.2 hectares). These areas encompass fuels that are at risk to the community and can be mitigated through fuel reduction treatments, which will reduce the wildfire threat to Nordegg. This threat will be mitigated through selective mulching.
