The COUNTY received an earmarked State and Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG) (Clean Water State Revolving Funds) through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the Anclote Road project. Before the funds can be awarded, an environmental assessment in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and preparation of an Environmental Information Document (EID) Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) that meets EPA’s guidelines is required.
The COUNTY previously conducted a Preliminary Engineering Study from 2021 to 2024 to evaluate alternatives for roadway and drainage improvements along Anclote Road from US 19 to Anclote Blvd. A Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) dated June 20, 2024, was prepared to document the analysis and results of this study. The previous study did not include an environmental assessment in accordance with NEPA.

Proposed work in this scope of services includes additional evaluation and refinement of two previously developed Build Alternatives and the No Build Alternative. The evaluation will include a NEPA environmental assessment and alternatives evaluation in accordance with EPA requirements, updating existing project reports from a previous County study, and preparation of updated or new project reports as needed. A Preferred Alternative will be selected based on this evaluation. This scope does not include development of additional alternatives.
